Oh how I wish I could be a better photographer! I have all of these fantastic flowers popping up all over my yard and my photos make them look like weeds. I’m not a rose-y type of person. The thorns hurt too much! But this yellow rose bush really caught my eye when we first moved to NY and I just couldn’t resist it. So I planted it last year and the roses are just plentiful this year. Now I just have to figure out how to get it to be able to stand on its own rather than with my sad little pole helping it stand up. Here are my shots after the morning rain today. I just LOVE my flowers!

So I have what I feel is the perfect camera. It’s a Canon G9. I can go fully automatic and fully manual. I can even do RAW images and purchase different lenses if I want. However, I wouldn’t know the first thing about it all. I only point and shoot! But if I had the time, I’d take a class. Oh how I wish I had the talent. Check out these closeups and imagine what they would look like if I had any photography knowledge:

I’ve also started filling up my circular garden. I planted some “million bells.” If you don’t know anything about them, they are a hybrid plant created by a Japanese company. I love these things. They are gorgeous with their tiny flowers and beautiful foliage. They are an offshoot of the petunia but they aren’t a perennial – darn! I usually only do perrennials because I just don’t have the energy to plant EVERY year! I like my flowers to keep coming back up to greet me every Spring. The flowers around the bricks are petunias that I just planted yesterday. I ran out so I’ll have to go back and get a few more!

And last but certainly never least are my favorite flowers in the world! They are called Asiatic Lilies. Unfortunately they haven’t bloomed yet but I will post photos once they do. These things took off on a wild tangent. Last year I went to Home Depot and bought some and planted them. I kept telling hubby that they looked sad and just “not right.” So I drove my daughter to a rehearsal for a play about 45 minutes away and on a whim stopped by their Lowe’s store. I found they had the most healthy plants ever! So I bought more lilies and planted them last year. Well the northern snow must really make the soil POP with nutrients because instead of 1 plant coming up, I had about 7 or 8 in each spot. They had multiplied. OH, and my tulips which can’t be seen multiplied at least by 4. I dug up the bulbs and am sending a friend some because I just have way too many! Looks like I’ll have to do the same with these. They have even more than doubled in height:

Now if I could just take great photos!

Great Garden! I am not really a rose person either, but those sure are lovely, they have a softer yellow color than normal, and I like that. My fav flowers are lilies, I can;t wait to see when yours bloom!
