I owe you all an apology. Today has been very hectic. We had company coming tonight so we needed to spiffy up the house. Add that to the fact that my daughter is rebellious lately when it comes to school work and you have a very stressful day. However, I didn’t want the day to go without giving you the freebie I have for today. It was a toss up. I have a pretty decoframe that I created and then I have another surprise from Lisa. But her stuff is SOOOO good that I’ve decided to make that one wait. You know, build up the anticipation! So for now I’m going to give you my goodie. Come back tomorrow and I’ll show you where to get the next goodie. ~Denise

There is a special blog that I follow for girls hair. I’m always over there getting new styles for my little girl. Now PrincessHairStyles is asking for our help. Here’s her note:

Late Monday afternoon my dear blogging friend (Shellie) lost her 2 year old son in a drowning accident. I have a 3 year old son, so it really hits home how devastating something like that would be. I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now. I’m joining the blogosphere in a special “Wordless Wednesday” dedicated to Shellie. If you want to join in, take a picture of a candle lit in honor of Shellie’s sweet angel (Bryson Ross). It’s a small and simple thing, but I’m hoping this will bring Shellie and her family some comfort to see all the support behind them.

So here’s my contribution and my heartfelt prayers to Shellie and her family. I would love it if you left some love or hugs in the comments area for Shellie. With all of the links being listed on Princess Hair Styles blog she’s sure to see them at some point.

You know, I feel really dumb right now! I waited all day yesterday for Debbie to post her stuff so I could give it to you here. Silly me kept looking so I finally emailed her. She was in and out of the house all day due to employment testing (best wishes Debbie) when I realized that it wasn’t her that hadn’t posted but that it was ME who kept looking for the wrong posts. I wasn’t going to her site but to a specified posting so that meant I never saw any new posts. This coming from the woman who actually knows about HTML. Hmmm, me thinks doth needs a break! DUH! So in my haste, I missed a day so I’m giving you day 3 and 4 here! I’m so sorry!

My dear friend Debbie has today’s giveaway. She’s made it a surprise by not revealing what it is. So I downloaded it and was going to show you when I thought to myself “why should I be the one to ruin Christmas?” So I’m not! I did that as a child and vowed never to do that again. So you’ll just have to run over to her blog, get the link from the top entry and download. Then open your gift. It’s worth it because it’s SOOOO cute!

This is my last layout for the tribute album I’m making of my husband’s mother. Now all I need to do is buy the album, print the pages, and decorate that album. I love decorating those albums. My favorite thing to do is get mulberry paper and wrap it around the album. I’m kind of thinking of using actual material around the album this time.

This layout was a bit difficult when I did the wordart. I wanted something that spoke about family. I couldn’t find any so I tried to make up a quote. The quote “The Family ties that bind” is meant to be good but instead people feel it’s bad. They think of a bind instead of a bond. So I came up with “The Family ties that bind are the family ties that bond.” I sent out a preview to the team I’m on and received both positive feedback and negative (nothing bad, just that it still felt like a bad quote). Since this is going to be a layout given to family, I didn’t want any negative thoughts associated with the memories of this woman. So I “scrapped” the whole thing and started over. I actually found the quote I used on the internet but no name was associated with it. Scroll down to see my layout and to get copies of both pieces of wordart.

My cousin Kelly has a friend of a friend who has a 5 year old son Noah in the last stages of a 2 1/2 year battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer. The friend’s name is Diana Biorkman and the family is celebrating Christmas next week. Her son’s name is Noah and his request is to get a lot of Christmas cards. I am running out to buy a box of them. I’m going to give one to everyone I know already addressed. Then I’m going to have my husband take some to work addressed and stamped so they can just send them from there. I would consider it a great favor if you could find it in your heart to send a card to this young boy. I would consider it an even greater favor if you would please post this on your own blog so we can get this message out to as many people as possible. I received the message last night so my guess is that they are celebrating Christmas the week of 9 November. That means we need to get started sending those messages of love.

Here is the address:
Noah Biorkman
1141 Fountian View Circle
South Lyon, MI 48178

If you put this on your blog please provide me your link so I can post it here too and on my Facebook page. Great blessings to you! ~Denise

Talk about a freakishly busy day. Well, morning anyway. I had to get up at o’dark thirty. That’s a military saying that means WAY TOO EARLY! I started physical therapy on my neck (have two herniated discs and Spina-something…). Anyway, I had to be there at 7:00 this morning. I was up late last night getting craft stuff and cupcakes ready for my son’s Halloween Party. I’m the room mother (a job I thoroughly enjoy) so I did the shopping and planning but it made for a late night. Then I had to get over to the party and set things up. Then I came home and listened to my daughter play her saxophone (she feels the need to have an audience. Hey! If it gets her to practice, I’m there!). Now I’m struggling to get her finished with her studies so she doesn’t fall behind. Ah the joys of homeschooling!

I did promise you more quickpages from the other blog I had. I used Kimberly Stewart’s “The Bears & The Bees” for these too. I hope you like them! See you soon! ~Denise
